We are proud to announce that Humana People to People India has won the prestigious CSR leadership & Innovation award for its Urban Community Development Programme in NGO category, at the 4th Annual India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was held on the 26th of May 2017 in Mumbai, attended by a galaxy of CSR heads from Corporates and NGOs along with numerous other luminaries. The selection for the award was made after a rigorous 3-tier process involving interviews and site visits by the Jury members. Only 3 NGOs from across the country managed to make the cut, and we are proud to be one amongst them! CSR Awards is one of the most prestigious recognition honouring outstanding and innovative CSR, Sustainability and Social Enterprise Projects and leadership in CSR.
CSR SUMMIT 1 Dr. Shruti and Ms. Akanksha Goyal from the National Partnership Team-CSR, HPPI received the award on the organisation’s behalf. We hope to continue and expand our CSR work in the field of Urban Community Development including education, health and livelihood.
About HPPI’s Urban Community Development Programme:
Humana People to People India has developed an innovative and effective strategy for holistic community development for slum clusters across metro cities in India with women and child empowerment at the core. This strategy takes into account all the primary interlinked aspects such as education, health sanitation and livelihoods that are crucial to break the vicious cycle of poverty and empower women and children in real terms, addressing multiple factors that keep them from realizing their optimum potential. This comprehensive programme envisages the following activities:
Education: Step-up centres, a specially designed strategy by which HPPI develops the foundation of out-of-school children and helps them enroll in regular schools, Samarth Girls program for retaining already enrolled adolescent girls in school, Basic Literacy for women, enabling access to government facilities and services.
Health: Women health clubs, health camps, health and sanitation awareness campaigns, access to government facilities and services.
Livelihoods: Provision of vocational skills - computer, English, tailoring and beautician courses.
Resource Center: Connecting beneficiaries to various social security schemes they are entitled to, opening of bank accounts, PAN cards etc.

India CSR, dedicated CSR Media house, annually hosts the India CSR Awards. CSR Awards is one of the most prestigious recognition honoring outstanding and innovative CSR, Sustainability and Social Enterprise Projects and leadership in CSR. India CSR Awards have been instituted to recognize the innovative CSR Practices in India and this was the fourth edition of India CSR Awards.
