Humana People to People India (HPPI) has worked with state Governments in India since 2009 to improve the quality of primary school teachers through the implementation of our flagship Necessary Teacher Training Programme (NeTT). As of February, 2018 the innovative Programme has graduated 6,900 primary school teachers in India, and the training continues in 19 locations across 4 states.

Humana Italy has been HPPI’s longtime partner in implementing the NeTT Programme and have now successfully also engaged two more Italian partners, Fondacione San Zeno and Tavola Valdese, to support the efforts to improve the quality of education of primary school teachers in the Government-run teacher training institutions in Mahendergarh and Ferozpur Namak, Haryana. To amplify the impact of the training, a computer lab has been set up in each of the locations, enabling the student-teachers to do their studies through HPPI’s Nasscom-awarded digital learning platform digi-TEACH. The learning software allows the student-teachers to plan their studies, solve study tasks and send and receive feedback on them, making them the main drivers of their own learning.

30 laptops have been set up across the two labs, with power back-up systems to secure continued studies in the event of a power failure. In connection with the setup of the two computer labs, the government-run computer labs in both locations have also been renovated and the dysfunctional computers have been repaired.
