Biogas is one of the most inexpensive sources of renewable energy. In an effort to increase the awareness about this fuel and encourage the use of Biogas, HPPI organised an annual fair for the members of the self-help groups (SHG) in Abhaneri village in Dausa, Rajasthan on September 26, 2019.

Around 270 women from 60 villages of the district participated in this fair. Agriculture Officer & District Organic Farming Officer Mr. Dharam Singh Gurjar, Gram Panchayat Sarpanch from Abhaneri, Ms. Bimla Devi Gurjar along with HPPI staff participated in the event.

Project Leader Jai Singh Yadav from HPPI addressed the women and shared information about constructing Biogas plants and the benefits of organic farming. They were also informed about government schemes and benefits of Biogas plants. Several women from the SHGs also put out organic vegetables and other handmade products on display at the fair.

The fair works as an information sharing platform for the community members and the officials of the state agricultural and renewable energy department to promote the use of biogas among the local population.

About HPPI

Humana People to People India is a development organization registered as a not-for-profit company under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 as of 21st May 1998. It is a non-political, non-religious organization. Its mission is to unite with people in India in order to create development in the broadest sense through the implementation of the projects that aim at transferring knowledge, skills and capacity to individuals and communities who need assistance to come out of poverty and other dehumanizing conditions.
