Humana People to People India will support Teachers’ Training in Bihar

Bihar State Government and Humana People to People India has agreed to work together in 12 District Institutes for Education and Training (DIETs).

Director Research and Training, Department of Education, Bihar Dr. Binodanand Jha and Chief Executive Officer of Humana People to People India (HPPI) Snorre Westgaard signed an MoU regarding strengthening the District Institutes of Education and Training in Bihar. The MoU was signed in the presence of Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary in an event organised at Dr. Madan Mohan Jha Memorial Auditorium, Department of Education, New Secretariat, Patna, on 26th April 2022.

The MoU aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of 12 DIETs in Bihar and improve the quality of education in the spirit of the National Policy of Education 2020. The Education Minister appreciated the work done by HPPI during the last seven years in the state and expressed hope for the same in future. He said, ”the success of a program depends on its ability to reach the last beneficiary.” The MoU is signed for the coming five years and the Minister assured complete support from the education department in its implementation. He underlined the need for monitoring in the schools, and the importance of the efforts towards ensuring quality education.

The State Project Director cum Secretary education, Bihar Shri Asangba Chuba, assured full cooperation from the department of education. He emphasized the need for enhancing the communication skills amongst the trainees, sensitizing the teachers towards children and develop the ownership towards their duties.

The Chief Executive officer, HPPI Snorre Westgaard said, “Humana People to People India strongly believes that quality education improves access to better livelihood opportunities, and it also enhances the awareness about healthy living, helps the fellow humans to become better citizens.

He said unders this program, HPPI will work in three broad tiers: 

  • Institutional transformation, where each DIET will make a 5-year Master Plan which is supplemented by Annual Plans.
  • Teacher Development, where each DIET designs plans to improve the quality of pre-service training as well as professional development of employed teachers.
  • School Complex Support plan for improving the quality of education in 1-2 School Complexes attached to each DIET.
